10 short pieces for piano and electronics based on Timothy Leary’s: The Psychedelic Experience: A Manual Based on The Tibetan Book of the Dead (1966)

Program note:

The piece uses samples of Timothy Leary’s voice reading excerpts from The Psychedelic Experience: A Manual Based on The Tibetan Book of the Dead (1966). It explores various ways of combining instrumental and electronic sound. Though it is comprised of separate pieces it maintains a fragmented narrative structure driven mostly by specific sounds and textures which are repeated and transformed in different pieces and by the text which is prominent in some pieces while others serve as commentaries. The narrative structure of the piece expresses loosely the process of annihilation of the ego as described by Timothy Leary in the book.
